What Goodell and the owners did was place a bull's eye square on the chest of the players. The owners basically said this to fans: We tried to get a deal done and the players didn't.
Think about this. The owners ratified an agreement the players hadn't seen in its entirety.

Aldilà di come la si possa vedere, il fatto che questi votano un accordo senza che i giocatori lo abbiano prima visto e il fatto che poi dicano al mondo "noi abbiamo firmato ora tocca a loro" mettendoli con le spalle al muro è ridicolo e fa sì che i giocatori passino automaticamente dalla parte della ragione...
E il fatto stesso che firmano ma poi la NFL annulla l'Hall of Famer game la dice lunghissima sul cosa pensavano di fare e sulle conseguenze che sapevano di scatenare. Se sei in buona fede prima di cancellare la partita aspetti di sapere se i giocatori accettano o meno...

credo che il problema - per quanto cavilloso - stia qui. I giocatori avrebbero dovuto ricomporre la NFLPA per mantenere alto il ritmo della trattativa, anche senza firmare il CBA, ma non hanno fatto né l'una, né l'altra cosa e questo ha irritato - credo - da una parte l'NFL e dall'altra ha - sicuramente - dato previa giustificazione alla cancellazione della partita, peraltro insignificante sul piano sportivo, dell'Hall of fame. A mio avviso, i giocatori hanno fatto il primo passo falso, mancando di lungimiranza "politica" e agendo d'istinto, e adesso si trovano presi per le palle.
Gli owner hanno avuto servito su un piatto d'argento l'occasione di passare dalla parte dei buoni e non se la sono fatta sfuggire.
Non conosco gli americani - Brax spero mi correggerà - ma la sensazione è che la maggior parte dei tifosi non stia a leggere tra le righe dei comunicati, ma stia solo ad aspettare che si giochi e che, quindi, in questo momento l'opinione pubblica si riconosca più nei proprietari, che nell'Unione che non c'è.
Se, invece, i rappresentanti dei giocatori avessero mosso un passo deciso verso la ricostituzione dell'Nflpa, pur non potendo materialmente concluderla, senza firmare il cba, avrebbero fatto una mossa, una mossa comunque d'attesa, ma avrebbero lasciato meno gioco ai proprietari.
Adesso temo che i giocatori si trovino in una lose-lose situation, se non firmano ci perdono tutti: la lega, a suo dire, 200 milioni per week di preseason non disputata; più della metà dei giocatori, quelli al minimo salariale, quelli la cui carriera mediamente non supera i 4 anni, quelli che Mawae ha detto di voler rappresentare, perdono settimane di stipendio; i giocatori ricchi, la compagnia di Brady in testa, fanno la figura davvero degli stronzi.

Detto ciò, per la gioia della Maria, posso dire che Maiocco prevede che un accordo sia lontano e, visto quanto spesso ci ha azzeccato ultimamente, questo mi lascia ben sperare che da lunedì si possa parlare di football.

dimentichi che gli Stati Uniti sono vicini al default e il lockout in ultima analisi non fa che danneggiare la crescita del pil.

Stavo seguendo da qualche giorno un sondaggio (non ricordo se su ESPN, CBS o qualcosa del genere).
Prima della firma degli owners il vantaggio era tutto per loro, mentre stamattina vedevo che siamo al 50%.
Gli americani sono indubbiamente cazzoni, ma forse solo fino ad un certo punto...
