E' evidente che non c'era più la volontà da parte di Bush e dei Saints di proseguire, perchè a quelle cifre se i Saints lo volevano poteva rimanere eccome!
Abbiamo preso un giocatore abbastanza "simile" il che sta a significare che per coach Payton quel tipo di RB è fondamentale. E gli diamo anche bei soldi tutto sommato, 6 mil subito, quasi il triplo di quello che prenderà Bush.
Secondo me a New Orleans ritengono Bush incapace di finire sano una stagione (è successo solo 1 anno su 5).
Tralaltro Brees ha dichiarato che non sarà facile sostituire Bush negli schemi e che non ha mai visto un giocatore più stressato dai media di Bush. E da questo ultimo punto di vista non ha scelto il posto più tranquillo del mondo...

T Jermon Bushrod said he did ponder a couple of different teams before ultimately re-signing with the Saints. He said he was close to leaving until the Saints made an offer he felt comfortable with. Once the Saints did so, he quickly decided to stay.

Se ho capito bene coach Payton ha fatto portare dai giocatori che si allenavano delle bevande tipo cocktail (quelle con l'ombrellino) ai giocatori che non hanno ancora firmato e guardavano l'allenamento, per "allietare le loro vacanze"...

Saints signed center Kreutz due to need
The signing of C Olin Kreutz should come as no surprise considering Sean Payton's reaction to now 49ers C Jonathan Goodwin leaving the Saints. Payton didn't exactly give C Matt Tennant, who had been taking snaps with the first team, a ringing endorsement as Goodwin's possible replacement.

Coach Payton on the Saints linebackers "It's probably the deepest we’ve been, and most talented we’ve been, at that position in our six years."

Ingram's punishing style is what Saints wanted
RB Mark Ingram wowed his teammates and fans during a goal-line live tackling team portion as he plowed over S Roman Harper and barreled into the endzone for a TD. Ingram has been extremely tough throughout this training camp, and it's exactly what the Saints are looking for from him.

"I can't wait to see him play this Friday (against the San Francisco 49ers at the Superdome) and see what he does against another team because in practice he's definitely flashed signs of greatness," free safety Malcolm Jenkins said.





"He's been everything that we wanted him to be," Harper said.

Harper's defensive teammates have been equally impressed. They, better than anyone, know what an NFL back looks like. And in less than a week, Ingram has earned their universal respect.

"His best attribute is he has a low center of gravity," Jenkins said. "It's hard to just run up to him and knock him off balance. He's low to the ground. A lot of the times you get the worst of the hit."

Said linebacker Jonathan Casillas: "His vision is very advanced. He's not a rookie with his vision. Usually, rookies just follow the fullback on that same track. He's willing to make that risky cut to get to the backside."

Said linebacker Scott Shanle: "I didn't realize how agile he was. He's got great balance. The guy's got tree trunks for legs."

Said linebacker Jon Vilma: "He finishes his runs. He doesn't let up. He's like a machine."

Said safety Chris Reis: "What's surprising is speed around the edge. He can get after it. He's going to be dangerous."

Linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar said he watched Ingram play often at Alabama. He saw the missed tackles and wondered if the whiffs were attributable to Ingram's ability or the lack thereof from his college competition.

"Now that you're out there hitting against him, you go, OK, this guy is the real deal," Dunbar said.

E intanto Colston non si allena da una settimana per i postumi della ennesima operazione al ginocchio.
5 operazioni in 5 anni da pro, una all'anno.
Speriamo bene, ma la sensazione è che il suo rendimento e coinvolgimento, quest'anno, possano calare drasticamente.
E il fatto che finora, nel ruolo di WR non ci sono ancora stati tagli, fa pensare che stiano aspettando di capire come si possa evolvere la situazione.
